Originally released in 1984, Red Roses For Me is the raucous debut from The Pogues, where traditional Irish folk collides head-on with the raw energy of punk. Driven by Shane MacGowan’s ragged vocals and songwriting, it laid the blueprint for Celtic punk with rowdy highlights like “Streams Of Whiskey” and “Boys From The County Hell.” An essential first chapter for any Pogues collection.
