Darkthrone have just released their 21st studio LP, Pre-Historic Metal. The band is now 45 years into their career. They released a massive Box Set of early albums a couple of months ago to celebrate their definitive impact on the Black Metal genre. Your washed-up and ex-corpse-painted scribe, Sean Millard, weighs in on Progress versus Nostalgia and comes down on the side of growth and evolution. It’s time to hail contemporary Darkthrone. Re pressed on Black and White Splatter vinyl.
